Hey what’s up, armies! Mr. Frog here back with another hero spotlight. But before that, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has officially released patch 1.5.88, implementing a number of hero and gameplay changes that will better improve the experience for all players. It’s one of the largest patches this year. The patch includes roaming equipment changes and three revamped heroes.
This time we will featuring the very stunning Mage dancer hero Esmeralda. A known astrologer in the MLBB lore and khufra’s ex-lover (what!?) Similar to Grock, Esmeralda was a strong pick in patch 1.5.78. In the latest patch, the base damage of her second skill, Stardust Dance, was given a solid buff, up by 30 damage with each hit, resulting in Zeys bumping her to S-tier in the XP lane to join long-standing meta picks like Phoveus, Barats, Uranus, Gloo, and Benedetta.
Esmeralda utilizes the power of frostmoon and stardust enabling her to deal excellent damage then generate and absorb energy shields at the same time. This hero is usually played as an offlaner (Exp lane) then could be a threat in the mid to late game. You start off by buying boots (upgrade to magic shoes or tough boots depending on who you’re up against) then making your way to enchanted talisman (for mana regen), calamity reaper (additional magic damage), Oracle (hp and shield boost and cd reduction), blood wings (hp, shield, and magic damage. Quite OP with the update) then holy crystal. It is also important to know the skill arrangement when engaging in battle, combos is to use frostmoon shield first before using stardust dance in order to reduce the cooldown of frostmoon shield, or use the first skill before using falling starmoon. In that way you could absorb shields once you go in. The tricky part here is to maintain that combo, make sure to clash while opponents stun or hold skills are in cooldown to make sure you can generate enough shield first before getting stunned. Make sure to hit your stardust dance every time to reduce the cd of the frostmoon shield. Remember that each normal attack can generate shield too so don’t forget to hit. Esmeralda is a sustain hero with big damage but not a tower pusher, so a balanced lineup is required when playing her in your team.
