Hello! Mr. Frog here and I am back with another first impression of a game that I recently played on stream, A Plague Tale: Innocence. This game is set in late 1348 in the Kingdom of France during a plague that brought a lot of deaths. In this game, we follow Amicia De Rune and her little brother, Hugo on their adventure to survive the plague and figuring out the mystery behind it. This game is one of the most underrated games that I have ever played. Although I am a frog, I am also a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to action-adventure survival horror stealth games. I could feel my little froggy heart beating really loud and fast for the whole game and this is one of the games that you will surely never get bored of or get sleepy while playing it. The graphics of this game are really nice plus you have an option to change the language to French which I greatly appreciate.
I won’t tell you any spoilers but I’ll give you some tips when it comes to playing this game. My first tip will be to always look for loot. I think this is already a given but, in this game, there is no such thing as over looting. You can make the game so much easier to play if you collect enough loot to upgrade your items. My other tip is to play the game in really bright settings. On my first run, I set my brightness to normal and it’s really hard to play because the game is too dark. Playing the game on maximum brightness will help you see more things and more loot.
When it comes to the story of the game, even though I would admit that I hated Hugo in most chapters of the game, it was really nice and well written. You might say that Hugo is being unreasonable for most of the game but if you think about it, he is a sheltered kid who spends most of his time with his mom that lets him do whatever he wishes to do, except getting out of the house.
I am nearly at the end of the game and I could say that I am definitely enjoying it and I am looking forward to the ending.
