Hi guys Sky Bambie here from Hubient Talents! Want to get fancy tipsy? Then this restaurant must be added to your list now!
Over the weekend I visited Handpicked cellar Door in Chippendale, located right next to central park and spice alley.
This company is known for their innovative Vineyards and deliciously addictive wines. They are only a young company but have still managed to win 8 major trophies!

Drop in for wine tasting, relax with a cheese platter or pick up a bottle of wine for the go. The interior has an industrial vibe with lofty ceilings, it has dimmed lighting for a perfect cosy ambience that welcomes a warm atmosphere.

As soon as you enter you are greeted with the best customer experience you can get, the staff are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their trade. They know all the different wines and can tell you the process of making each wine from planting the seed to pouring into your glass. They also know the best cheese pairing with each wine so when visiting be sure to ask!
Discover wines with a guided tasting at the sensory bar, let the beautiful staff choose your wines that are perfectly fitted to your preferences.

On the menu you have different flight tasting options- this contains 4 wines with the option to pair them with 4 recommended cheeses.
I chose breakfast at Tiffanys that came with the Moscato, prosecco, pinot, and rose. It comes out in a beautiful presentation with the wines placed in groves on a wooden board with a photo and description of each wine. I would say if you love your wine on the sweeter side to try the Moscato!
At Hubient we always recommend ensuring you also drink plenty of water whilst enjoying your wine tasting, the wine is good it is easy to get carried away, the more water you drink the more wine you can enjoy.

Not only good wine, but they also have flavour packed food that compliments any of your wine choices.

I went for the shared food options available, I chose the Olives, sough dough with Tahiti dip and the vegetarian pasta. I Highly recommend the pasta as it is the perfect amount for two.
Handpicked Cellar Door has 6 Vineyards located in australia :-
- NATIVE POINT VINEYARD- tasmania
- Auburn Road- Tasmania
- Wombat Creek Vineyard- Yarra Valley
- Highbow Hill Vineyard – Yarra Valley
- Watunga road Vineyard- Barossa Valley
- Capella Vineyard- Mornington Peninsula

Handpicked cellar doors are very selective of their soils they use to grow their wines. They are aware of the top layer soil to the middle clay and even the lower-level stone. This is to ensure the best combination for drainage to prevent the roots from rotting. Whilst visiting the restaurant you can have a look at their soil displays yourself!
Sustainability
As I have mentioned previously on Hubient, I am deeply passionate about the environment, and I love a company that cares about sustainability is automatically a tick from me. They have joined the ‘Sustainable Winegrowing Australia program’.
here are a few of their conscious changes
- Trialling new label stocks made from sustainable sources such as sugar cane waste
- Cartons produced using recycled paper stock, biodegradable inks and varnishes
- Transitioning all our cartons to be printed on 100% recycled kraft
- Gift packaging produced with 100% FSC recycled paper, sustainably sourced biodegradable soy oil inks and varnishes
- Scheduling bottlings in bulk to minimise waste and energy consumption and increase efficiency
- Recycling our crushed glass bottles in partnership with the EPA
- Re-using Prosecco bottles for water bottles
- Re-using our cardboard wine packaging
- Greener gifting
- Handpicked refillable bottle project
- Switched to bio-degradable food packaging and chemicals

If you are still thinking of what to do for the upcoming holidays for your corporate events/ parties why not try their private events and experience packages with Tank Tasting, Tutored Wine and Cheese Pairing or a Corporate Virtual Tasting.
Bonus Moscato Facts
Thinner champagne glass keeps bubbles longer!
Moscato is not fermented as long so it is sweeter with less alcohol content.
Don’t worry if you cannot visit this place in Sydney as they have a terrific location in Melbourne as well! I encourage this experience even if you are not a fan of wine, try speaking to the staff about your taste palate and they might surprise you.
