Hi beautiful people, Welcome to my blog! My name is Sky Bambie and I am apart of Hubient Talents.
Today I wanted to write a lot of Ideas of how to reduce your carbon footprint and make small changes for a more sustainable lifestyle.
I’ve made posts on my Instagram @our_iridescent_earth about different ways to help start your journey on sustainability that you can have a look at as well.

- Public transport, carpool, walk or cycle !
By taking public transport, riding a bike or carpooling, when possible, you help reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Avoid buying packaged food
Besides visiting special stores that have scoop and weigh options or your local fruit and vegetable market here are some more ways to cut down on packaging
- Buy in bulk
- Avoid take away
- Buy reusable products
- Recycle packaging
- Grow your own food
Save money and have control of your own food. Growing fruits and vegetables helps lessen food waste, packaging and plastic waste.

- Cut down shower time
Set a timer or play a short playlist, turn off the tap in between putting on your shampoo and conditioner. Another great tip besides saving water is buying shampoo and conditioner bars to save on plastic packaging or buy a refillable
- Slow fashion
The opposite of fast fashion it advocates being conscious about the fashion you buy and how it affects people, animals and the environment. Re use your clothes instead of consistently buying new ones, buy second hand, donate, research how hard dyes and chemicals can affect the environment.
- Shop local
Convenient, better for the environment and helps support your communities’ local businesses which is vital in covid times.
- Dry clothes naturally
Not only do they smell much fresher after hang drying outside you also save on energy consumption as clothes dryers are the second most energy consuming appliance in the household.
- Plant based diet
Even if you want to change your lifestyle to not eating meat only once a week or just making more greener options in food occasionally you can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, water usage and help reduce land disturbance.
- Compost
Composting sounds difficult but it is super easy! Save scraps instead of throwing them away to help your garden. Composting helps Reduce waste, nourishes your soil, reduces need for pesticides and improves plant growth.

- Use reusable bottles
Only 1 in 5 plastic bottles are recycled, over 80% end up in landfill or the ocean. Buy a nice reusable water bottle that can easily go with you throughout the day.

- Buy less
The Minimalism community is growing every year with people finding so many benefits to it.
- Creates more space,
- allows focus on quality over quantity,
- less clutter = less stress
- Easier to find things
- Better for the environment
Awareness is the first step and even if you are taking effort to be conscious by even one of these ideas it helps. Take a look at Hubient Talents YouTube channel for other eco videos or have a look at more of our blog posts on Hubient that I have done previously under Sky Bambie for more.
