HI beautiful people! MY name is Sky Bambie and I am a part of the Hubient Talents. Today I’m going to have a look at some of the current trending fashion trends for the close of 2021 and possibly extend to 2022. I feel in our current times there are always so many micro trends going on simultaneal. As uniqueness and diversity is being rewarded more and more. Having your own unique style or falling into different aesthetics makes the fashion industry such an exciting time to be a part of with endless possibilities.
Subversive
First up is a fashion aesthetic best described by Augustina Panzoni a fashion forecast influencer as subversive “basics that rebel up to the point of losing their utility.” What is Subversive? Clothes with cutouts, asymmetrical lines and missing essential details that make up the original piece. A style that is more on the edgy side that has a risky vibe of exposure.
New prep
A new take on the famous preppy or old money style aesthetic comes ‘new prep’ with key items such as Varsity sweaters, pleated skirts, sartorial check, polo wear and exaggerated collars. Take Clueless and re vamp it to today’s trends of rebellion.
Monochrome
Grab a color such as blue and style yourself in hues of blue from your jewelry, top, bottoms to even your shoes and handbags! It’s an aesthetic that bring such class, style and sophistication whilst being powerful and bold. Even the most basic outfit can be transformed into a head turner with monochrome styling.
Street Smart
Take Mens ware and cross it with oversized fits, proportions for bottoms and outerwear. This trend adapts a street style with business contemporary pieces combining an expression of power and style.
Checker board print
The perennial check continuously re surfaces to take charge of the fashion scene. This pattern can be scene covering all aesthetics from Preppy to Pop punk and even street smart with its versatility to cover all color palates. Contrast prints and brushed wools to turn up the geometric deepness of the pattern.
Matching sets
The Cold weather comfy vibes and working from home during the pandemic have resurfaced the slounge aesthetic with a new take in details and proportions to update matching sets to a styled fit that you can be proud to go out in.
Statement Trousers
Letting your bottoms make the statement can work your day or night outfits creating a powerful fit for any occasion. Style them with bold crazy hues, color blocking, metailic, boot cut color; the options are endless and the desired result is to be bold.
Plush outerwear
Want to look like a comfy teddy bear? Check out the Plush Outerwear trend that includes pieces of Teddy Boucle, fleece and shearling jackets and coats. These cozy winter pieces can range from cute to bold essentials.
Pop punk
The return of grunge and pop punk is one of my favorites come backs. Bring out the eyeliner and thank the youth music scene for bringing forth this aesthetic back into the mainstream. With a darker aesthetic of hues and graphic tees and purely self-expression fits be prepared for this trend to stick around.
