Hello Armies. This is Mr. Frog HUBient. In this article we are here to give you another Smite God Spotlight. And today we’re going to feature an excellent example of the control and disruption role in smite. Erlang Shen.
Erlang Shen, third entry into the Chinese Pantheon’s Warrior class, is a formidable frontliner who has two main modes. Erlang Shen, when built offensively, has the ability to lock down and destroy any target quickly – although without the survivability that other Chinese frontliners possess. Erlang Shen can be built defensively to become a powerful “set-up” tank. It locks down single targets, allowing powerful Hunters and Mages to land critical skillshots. While taking large amounts of damage, it will not need to retreat. While some Warriors are capable of performing both roles well, many others fall somewhere in between. To be able to perform the job that he has chosen, the Illustrious Sage must commit to one or both of these roles (offensive and defensive).
Although Erlang Shen can be a formidable pick in any capacity, it will take more than just valor to make the most out of him. Erlang Shen is both a soldier, and a sage. Erlang Shen is an excellent example of the role of a Warrior in SMITE – control and disrupt. The Sage is a natural leader in engagements and wants to control enemy positioning with Pin, 9 Turns Blessing and Control the Center. This will allow your more powerful mages to land their unreliable haymaker spells. Your team will win.
Erlang Shen can also be used in smaller engagements to prevent an enemy from doing too much or going anywhere. Engage an out-of-position enemy with 72 Transformations. Cancel the form as soon the enemy is knocked down, then spin around and land a Pin. Erlang Shen can deal huge damage uncontested while completely disabling your enemy from escaping.
