Are you stressed and find yourself dethatching and drowning when overwhelmed with your work life? Although not a medical diagnosis burnout is commonly known as “an occupation phenomenon conceptualized as resulting from prolonged stress or frustration”
For most cases it is hard for someone to realise they are burning out until they are already there. Even if you do not experience yourself, it may be present for someone in your life. I hope this article helps you and possibly people you care about.
What causes Burn out?
- Taking on too much workload
- Not sleeping
- No work and personal life balance
- Feeling like a failure
- Lack of fulfilment
- Lack of support
- No recognition
- High pressure environments

Signs of Burn out
- fatigue
- Low motivation
- Negative and low thoughts
- Mood swings
- Depression and anxiety
- Lack of sleep
- Forgetfulness
- Getting distracted easily
- Isolation
- Apathy
- Health issues

How to treat Burn out
- Meditate
- Go for a walk
- Take regular breaks
- Be king to yourself
- Pay attention to your moods
- Unplug when needed
- Listen to music
- Do a hobby or fun activity
- Socialise with friends
- Exercise
- Plan out and organise your priorities
- Sleep!
- Ask for support

Your mental and physical health should be your number one priority. You may think work should come first but if your health suffers in turn your work will suffer. Life is a balancing act, and the scales can easily tip without taking the time to put your life in perspective of what is helping you and what is heeding you.
