Hello Armies! This is Mr. Frog HUBient and today I will give you my first impression about an action role-playing game developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox Publishing.God Fall.
The game takes place in high fantasy, divided into the realms Earth, Water, and Air. Players assume the role of an exalted Knight’s Order member to stop a major apocalyptic disaster. Based on the armor sets and Valorplates they have, there are five weapon classes available to choose from. These weapon classes include the polearm, longsword and dual blades. You can add additional Valor Plates or Augments to personalize the character class. The game supports one player or up to three people in cooperative mode. It is described as a “looter/slasher” because it is based on the loot-shooter concept of completing missions to gain better loot for future quests. The focus of combat is on melee rather than ranged attacks.
Godfall received a little overhaul to address many of the issues that players initially had with it. However, the needed changes were made almost a year after its release. It is up to the player to decide if the game is worth it. A number of major updates have been made to Godfall that will improve the game’s experience, from the beginning to end. For example, the Fire and Darkness DLC adds a new area to players, and the Lightbringer update free of charge overhauls Godfall’s ending game experience with new events and challenges that reduce repetitiveness. There’s also a basic matchmaking system available for those who don’t have real-life friends to take with them. Fire and Darkness introduces the Fire Realm to the game, which is a fourth area that is based on the elements of Earth, Water and Air. New quests and monsters are included in the new zone. Lightbringer introduces new itemization and a challenge that covers all four realms. It also has a Curse system that makes endgame content more difficult. The mission system in Godfall is criticized for being tedious and not progressive. The majority of quests fall into one of two camps: either kill the big bad guy and his hordes or talk to a specific person in order to continue the storyline. You’ll likely end up getting killed by a big bad man anyway.
Godfall’s unique approach to the genre is what makes it stand out from other games like Warframe, Borderlands 3 and Destiny 2. Godfall doesn’t require you to equip more futuristic weapons and armor. Instead, you will need to charge into the fray with your two-hander, heavy armor, and other weaponry to defeat the enemy hordes. Combat is the highlight of the game, and it nails melee.
