HI beautiful people! My name is Sky Bambie and I am a part of the Hubient Talents. Today we will go over things that can drain your energy and make you want to crawl back into bed in the long run.
Overthinking
It could be dwelling on the past or worrying about future events and conversations. Overthinking can consume your mind until you eventually drown. Yes of course putting a bit more thought into your actions is healthy and can prevent you from hurting yourself or others, but there is a fine line. If you feel yourself spiralling in thoughts try to actively step away from what you are currently doing and distract yourself with something lighter.
Not expressing emotions
You can only bottle up your emotions so much until they overflow, and usually when they overflow it will be a more emotional outpour than when you initially felt them. If the thought of opening up to someone and expressing how you feel makes your cringe with vulnerability, then you can try writing down your thoughts and feelings in a journal to start off with until you understand exactly to what you are feeling.
Social media
The constant flow of people showing off their lives, thoughts and talents can sometimes leave you feeling out of touch with the world around you. Social Media has brought us closer but in the same time created a warped mirror to reality. I’m not saying stop using it, all I’m suggesting is to take a break occasionally. If you don’t think you use it that much check your screen time.
Overworking
You’ve heard of burn out right? Well overworking can be your one-way ticket to burnout town. Work- life balance is something I’m sure we have all heard of, but it can Definity be easier said than done. If you find your self bringing the energy of work home with you or if it starts to consumer you from the moment you arise try to think of ways to fill your free time with relaxing, fun distractions.
Negative people
Your environment can affect you more than you realize. We absorb others’ emotions subconsciously and it can lead us feeling drained after every interaction. Research Suggests that being around negative people can actually rewire your brain to be more susceptible to depression and anxiety.
Clutter
Studies have shown that clutter can cause higher levels of stress and anxiety. You don’t have to go all minimalistic, but you can take away the unnecessary clutter. Consider doing a spring clean every 4 months and donate what you don’t need.
Dehydration
Go drink more water, that’s all I have to say.
Lack of sleep
Not only can it lead to serious health implications, but Your brain is more likely to get overstressed, irritable and have difficulty concentrating. This can also come into effect if your sleep schedule is constantly changing. Try to wind down and create a routine at the same time every day to train your brain into falling asleep.
Our Diet
This includes what we drink and eat. If you are alcohol dependent or only consumer unhealthy foods, end result you’re not going to be feeling the best. There are also other foods that may not agree with your body, and you may not even realise how they are affecting you. Consult your doctor or a dietitian to get the healthiest diet recommendation.
People pleasing
saying yes to everything is not appreciating your own wants and needs. Constantly wanting to make everyone happy will result in your unhappiness. We all must learn to set healthy boundaries with everyone. If you try to set a healthy boundary with someone and they get upset or don’t respect you, then I’m sorry to say you’re better off keeping your distance.
Setting unrealistic goals and expectations for yourself
Setting goals as high as the mountains, sure they can motivate you but if you are continuously not meeting them because they are so out of reach and unrealistic, you can end up hurting your self-esteem and motivation in the long run. Be kind to yourself, you can still strive for your ultimate but consider making small goals along the way.
