Gangplank’s keystone is Grasp. It can be activated easily by the Q skill. For a short time, you can engage in combat and then use Q to strike the enemy champion. This will give you a stack. Add up how many times you can do this, and you will be amazed at the damage and healing that the rune does in addition to granting you health. It is Gangplank’s most powerful rune, and should be used every time.
Demolish lets you do this faster than your passive. This rune is particularly useful in the early game, when the enemy top laner retreats. This rune allows you to receive a large gold inflow from tower plates within a matter of seconds.
Gangplank can be a great player as the game progresses, but his early game isn’t that exciting. This rune will reduce your burst and allow you to resist ganking attempts of the enemy jungler. You should not waste the rune effect and get auto-attacked from the enemy champion. Instead, try to force a trade every time it is up.
Overgrowth rune is a simple scaling rune which increases your health pool as the game goes on. Thanks to Grasp of the Undying and this rune, you become a high-health beast into the later stages of the game.
In an epilogue released to the story event, it was revealed that Gangplank is still alive, but one of his arms is a little worse for wear and has now been replaced. Players who prefer his original design can still get it as a free skin according to a statement made by Riot. So, are you a Gangplank fan?
