Hello Armies! Welcome to DOTA hero Spotlight and today we will feature an intelligence hero, Windranger’s gameplay style resembles that of an agility hero in many ways. Windranger
Windranger is an intelligence hero but her gameplay style is very similar to an agility hero. She focuses mainly on her physical attack. Although her archery skills are strong to begin with, she also enjoys an increasing rate of fire. The Deadly Power Shots do more than just damage the target they are targeting, they also continue to inflict damage on any nearby units. Power Shot has a very long range and is great for picking up injured heroes as they flee. Windranger’s Shackleshot is one of the most effective single-target moves in the game. It stops enemies fleeing. Windranger can use Shackleshot to chain a target to a tree or another enemy unit. This could potentially stun two heroes. Windrun is her third skill. It allows her to escape danger, place herself for good Shackle Shots and catch up with fleeing enemies. Focus Fire is another option if Powershot isn’t enough to eliminate a target. Focus Fire is her powerful ability that allows her to attack one enemy at a time. It reduces her total damage but has a longer duration. Focus Fire can also be used against stationary targets and buildings. Woe to the enemy hero first hit by Shackleshot!
The Windranger is an excellent utility hero. Shackleshot is her best non-ultimate disable. She has a great laning presence and can lane almost anywhere. I prefer to lane either solo or with a stunner for lane assignments. It doesn’t really matter though. When you are level 3 or higher, you can harass your enemies with Powershot. You can try to get kills with stunners at levels 3-4 so that you can be ready for Shackleshot.
Try to stay in your lane and earn some gold while you wait. Once you reach level 6, you can start to look for opportunities for ganking. You don’t want to spend too much time roaming, as you will lose too much gold and experience while not really succeeding at anything. Look for opportunities that are obvious to you and have allies. Also, look for something you can complete quickly and successfully. You should farm some gold to go with your Guinsoo’s Scythe Of Vyse. You will be horribly out-farmed if you spend too much time running back and forth.

You can still gank, but you should look for them. You won’t be able to defeat your enemy ganking alone, so it is not a smart idea. Ganking with at least one other person (preferably with a stun) is much more effective. You should follow your allies around in order to make them successful. Avoid putting yourself in the limelight. You are vulnerable to disabilities and nukes so it is a bad idea to be in the middle of combat all the time. Let your team members walk first, then let them take the initiative. Wait for the right moment to grab someone with Shackleshot or finish them off using Powershot.
If you’re not ganking with your teammates and aren’t pushing, you should farm for your Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse. It is usually around the 30th minute that I have it in a decent game with decent farm, decent opponents, and a good level of play. It is quite common to get it earlier, but it is also not uncommon to get it later. It is important to not delay it too much. You should not attempt to get any gold or experience if you don’t have enough. Instead, try farming a little so that you aren’t a complete fool.
You will most likely have your Orchid Malevolence around this time. In the final game, your job is to search for heroes to disable with Shackleshot. While it would be ideal to disable all heroes, or even double-disable them, you can disable anyone (or at least temporarily nullify) their combat power. Your Guinsoo’s Scythe to Vyse can be used on any enemy that requires it (e.g. Their carry hero, or any other person that poses a threat to your team, can be used on them. Use your Orchid Malevolence to start fighting and then activate Focus Fire. The amplified damage will make it difficult to focus on the Focus Fire’s reduced damage. Focus on the hero you want to highlight for your team. It will most likely stand out in combat, so you should be able quickly to identify it.
Try to not be too focused on fighting. Avoid being in the middle, don’t be the last to cross the line and avoid bad ultimates. Do your best to stay as far away as possible and not be reckless. Survival is essential.
You will be fighting to disarm as many heroes as possible using Orchid Malevolence/Focus fire on a good target and staying safe at a distance.
