Hello Armies! Mr. Frog HUBient again here and today I will give you my first impression about a science fiction racing video game developed and published by Italian studio 34BigThings, and co-published by Nicalis and 505 Games. Redout Enhanced Edition
The game is inspired by racing games like F-Zero and Wipeout. Players can compete on multiple tracks in the Solar Redout Racing League, by piloting one or more of a variety of craft. Each team has four ships and there are seven teams. Each ship has its own characteristics, including top speed, acceleration, grip, structural integrity and energy pool. You can modify the characteristics of your ship by installing upgrades or choosing from six active and passive power ups.
Five racing complexes exist, with seven more added by DLC. Each one has five tracks. Track design includes loops and jumps, teleports as well as underwater sections, tubular sections, and tracks with low gravity or none.
There are many racing modes in the game, but the most unique is the boss mode. This race takes place on a long track that can be linked via teleports to the five tracks of a racing circuit. Multiplayer online is possible via lobbies that can accommodate up to 12 players or locally by two players split screen. The controls for ships are the same as those of an aircraft. This includes strafing and pitching.
Redout is a solid game. However, it could be so much better if it was improved in some key areas. It’s not great because of the poor online experience, the absence of local multiplayer, or the poor overall performance.
It’s still a rewarding experience for those who are willing to put up with the effort. Redout is definitely worth your time, but only for those who are fans of this sub-genre. Redout may not be for you. We recommend FAST RMX instead.
Well That’s it for Redout. So what do you think of this game? Leave a comment below if you have any questions. Join our HUBient discord at discord.gg/hubient for more games, events and game announcements. Thank you armies and see you next one.
