Hey what’s up, Armies! Mr Frog Hubient here back again with a Dota 2 character highlight. Today we will feature a Tanky frontliner who protects and heals his allies. Purist thunderwrath. The Omniknight
Omniknight is a defensive support who specializes in healing his allies with purification and heavenly grace, and shielding them from physical damage with Guardian Angel. Unlike most other supports, he remains relevant in the late game as his abilities lack the type of scaling that makes them irrelevant against farmed enemies. Omniknight is generally played as a safe-lane support, but he can occasionally be played as an offlaner.
Omniknight has powerful defensive abilities and a relatively tanky support. He scales well, especially in late games. He has multiple pure damage nukes and amazing teamfight ultimate. Although he has constant mana problems, even into the late game and vulnerable in silences.
The Omniknight should be designed for survival and put a lot of effort into countering the enemy line-up. Guardian Greaves can be used to support Omniknights if they have a lot of AoE or silences. It can keep your team more active and remove most debuffs. Omniknights have longer cast animations than usual, so it is important to plan ahead and position well. Any hesitation could prevent him from casting his spells on time.

Omniknight can be quite squishy if he doesn’t have his buffs applied to him. This is why he must be at the back of the fire or need good counter items to keep himself in front of the fight. Silences are Omniknight’s biggest weakness beyond the laning stage. He must be able cast his abilities to have an impact on teamfights. While you can stop the enemy from disabling your abilities by casting Heavenly Grace before they do, good positioning will also prevent them from initiating attacks on Omniknight.
Omniknight is a slow-moving hero with a limited cast. He must walk from one place to the next. This is great if you are protecting one core or walking down a path. However, in this meta moving across the map to gather objectives gives your team an advantage that can snowball.
Who do you think is a good carry to try next? We’ll see on my next Dota 2 stream. If you want to play with me.
