What’s up, Armies! Mr. Frog Hubient here and I’m back with another Heroes of the Storm Hero Spotlight. Today we’re going to feature a Bruiser from the Blizzard Entertainment Warcraft franchise. Hogger
Now you can play the notorious Chieftain from the Riverpaw pack, and the Elwynn Forest scourge! Grab your sword, sharpen your common dagger, then abandon all hope for the Elwynn adventurers that dare to enter this area. Hogger is a chaos melee Bruiser who focuses on area control. Hogger uses Rage to replace mana. He does this by dealing and taking damage. Each point of Rage increases his cooldown time, but it quickly drops off if he leaves combat.
Loot hoarding is his trait. Hogger can throw a stash full of loot, which turns into a small area of terrain. Hogger can get a small amount of meat from the hoard to replenish his health. Staggering Blow is his first ability. He swings his flail into an arch and knocks back any enemies it hits. Hogger gets extra Rage if enemies collide with terrain. His second ability, EZ Thro Dynamite (EZ-Thro Dynamite), allows him to chuck a bootful of dynamite at enemies, slowing them down. Hogger’s Rage is activated if an enemy is directly hit. Hogg Wild transforms him into an unstoppable whirlwind, which moves in the target direction and damages nearby enemies, based on his Rage. The ability can also bounce off terrain, which refreshes its duration.
Hoardapult is his first heroic ability. It launches a Loot Hoard equipped with Hogger, slowing down and damaging enemies. Hogger is always near the Loot Hoard and it sometimes feeds him meat during its long duration. Shockwave, his other heroic, explodes near Hogger, creating a large explosion and a long shockwave at its tail. The shockwave causes less damage to enemies and a shorter stun, while those who are hit by it are stunned.
Here are the abilities of Hogger. D skll is Loot Hoard. Throw a pile of junk onto the battlefield, dealing 102 damage in a small area, knocking enemies away and acting as terrain for up to 5 seconds. When the Loot Hoard expires or is destroyed, a chunk of Meat falls out that can be picked up to restore 3% of maximum Health every second for 4 seconds. Reactivate to destroy Loot Hoard. Q skill is Staggering Blow. Swing your chain in a wide arc, dealing 140 damage to enemies hit and knocking them away. If an enemy collides with terrain, deal an additional 150 damage, Stun for 0.75 seconds, and gain 15 Rage. W skill is Ez-thro dynamite. It Toss a bundle of Dynamite with a 1.5 second fuse. Upon detonation, enemies take 180 damage and are Slowed by 30% for 2 seconds. The Dynamite instantly detonates when landing directly on an enemy Hero and grants Hogger 10 Rage. E skill is Hogg Wild. After 0.25 seconds, become Unstoppable and uncontrollably spin towards the target direction, ricocheting off terrain. Ricocheting off terrain refreshes the duration. And for R skill is the Hoardapult. Launch an empowered Loot Hoard with Hogger attached, dealing 100 damage and Slowing enemies by 50% for 2 seconds. Hoardapult’s Loot Hoard lasts for up to 20 seconds, decaying rapidly while not nearby. Every 10 seconds Hogger can take a chunk of Meat from the Loot Hoard.
Hogger is the game’s 90th hero. Hogger was the first to be teased in-game. Gnolls could be heard laughing at the beginning of a match. A picture of the bones and human armor from a Murloc was posted to twitter on November 21st. A second tweet was posted the next day and shows Hogger’s axe tucked in his “WANTED: Hogger” poster. Hogger carries a large flail, much like the Warcraft III gnoll creeps.
