Wazzup Armies! This is Mr. Frog Hubient again with another dota 2 hero spotlight. In this Article we will feature a carry and support hero in dota 2. Alchemist.
Alchemist isn’t a bad hero. But he is a mediocre carry. In the support role he actually has a 52% win rate. With an amazing 4 second stun and plenty of tanking ability he can bully pretty okay.
The support role in Dota 2 has the lowest farm priority on the team. Supports are responsible for making sure their team’s cores – the carry and offlaner – have a comfortable laning phase. They need this in order to get the farm and experience that they need.
Alchemist is an unusual carry based upon transmuting killed creeps into large amounts of bonus gold, with both an early game and late game presence due to the enormous health regeneration from his ultimate and the first strike nature of his other spells. Greevil’s Greed helps Alchemist farm key items like Radiance and Assault Cuirass. Acid Spray is also leveled early to aid in clearing creep waves, especially if Alchemist goes solo in lane. A successful player aims to overwhelm the opposing team during the mid game, when Chemical Rage makes Alchemist hard to kill.
Use Acid Spray to dissuade enemies from defending their towers, or pushing into yours. If playing mid, use Acid Spray to push the wave before you pick up the rune every five minutes. One point in Unstable Concoction is usually enough until other abilities have been leveled.
Alchemist is known for his incredible farming capabilities, which allows him to farm at the speed of sound. It is very common to see his hero with all six slots within just 20 minutes of play. He is a melee, strength hero that is played nearly exclusively as a mid laner. Although there have been times where people tried to support him, this wasn’t really all that successful and soon it faded away.
Apart from having the best farming tools in the game, Alchemist is also very hardy, which makes him an ideal front liner. He is fast, has a decent amount of armor and HP, which is exactly what every single hero needs.
And that’s it for our Dota 2 hero Spotlight. Would you rather use this hero in a rank game? Were there any important points we missed? Please leave a comment. Join our discord channel so we can play together at discord.gg/hubient. Thank you, Armies and see you in the next one!
