Hello, Armies! We are here again with another Dota 2 hero spotlight. And today, we are going to feature one of the best carries in Dota 2. Anti-Mage!
Dota 2 has a meta that favors some heroes over others. Anti-Mage is one of the few carriers that can be useful almost every time. Because he is capable of leading his team to victory, he is a hero pro teams choose when they are down. Anti-Mage is a rare pick in pro games and is often picked in PUBs for his carrying abilities. Anti-Mage, like all carry in Dota 2, needs as much farm as possible. This hero is the only one in Dota 2 who can’t live without his items. He can use his ultimate to defeat low-mana heroes, but that’s it. To maximize his efficiency, it is important to take as many last hits as possible.
Everything begins at the laning stage. This means that you must have a solid lane in order to succeed. Anti-Mage can be difficult to kill, but he can also be bullied out of his lane quite easily, especially in the beginning. People often choose to be supportive and babysit AM while he farms. You won’t be able to do much if you don’t have a good laning stage. If you have a good laning stage and are getting a lot of hits, farm the jungle camps in the vicinity of the late. Remember that you have Blink and you should use it to its full potential. AM’s mobility gives him the ability to farm multiple lanes and camps simultaneously, which is a strong advantage. Anti-Mage’s timing is another thing that makes him a dangerous hero. Anti-Mage is a hero who must have certain items in his arsenal before the minute runs out. These items can be purchased later, but they won’t be as effective.
There are many Anti-Mage item builds you can choose from, but the most common is buying Battlefury. Because it allows AM to farm at the speed of light, this is the key item that will change the game. Although Battlefury isn’t very expensive, it is not inexpensive either. AM must have a strong laning stage in order to obtain it as quickly as possible. It is a good idea to purchase the item between minutes 13-17, as you’ll have plenty of time to scale your farm or get the next item. Manta Style, which is the second most dangerous item AM has to have, is another reminder of the devil. Because the illusions are Mana Break-friendly, this item increases AM’s farming speed. This item also increases his stats and HP. He can take part in team fights or run away from them when necessary.
Many people mistakenly believe that AM is like Gyrocopters, and they want to take part in every team fight. While it may seem appealing to help your teammates, you should not do so until you have at the very least some of your essential items. Participating in team fights increases the risk of getting killed and can cause you to lose valuable farm time. This could lead to you losing more gold and, ultimately, slow down your time. Pro AM players won’t fight until they have all the necessary items.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to not participate in these fights, especially in PUBs. Lower-MMR teams don’t know how to use this hero’s potential so AM’s team members instead start them.
If you want to maximize the potential of the hero, the last and most important thing you need to do is to understand your counters. AM is strong against all intelligence heroes, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t counters. Storm Spirit, along with his team, is a nightmare for AM during mid-game. They can kill him in seconds.
Well, that’s it for Anti-Mage. What can you say about this hero? Is he reliable to use in game? Comment below. Thank you, Armies and catch you on next one.
