Hello, Armies! Welcome to another hero spotlight. And today, we will feature a hero in Heroes of the storm called Yrel.
Yrel, Light of Hope, is a melee Bruiser Hero from the Warcraft universe. After journeying towards an Alternate Draenor and battling the forces from Azeroth, helped save the Acolyte Yrel from being a victim of the Iron Horde. Thanks to their help she was elevated to the level of Exarch and then fought against the hordes of evil that invaded her realm.
She is now in the place where space, time and dimensions meet and become the Nexus. Yrel is a deliberate melee Bruiser whose heavyweight abilities reward investment and careful timing.
Born in the alternate Draenor, which was the home of the draenei who were exiled, Yrel was dedicated to her religion. She was raised at her home in the Temple of Karabor, the heart that holds spirituality and the Holy Light that her people received. She was also employed as an Acolyte. Passionate about her beliefs and to her studies, she proved to be a promising candidate as healer. Prophet Velen noticed her talent. He asked her to train as his student and then began to teach her the importance of sacrifice and leadership. However, Yrel had a dark side in her. Velen recognized it, and knew that whether she was good or bad she would have a bigger responsibility to fulfill. But when she was considering her possibilities, Yrel preferred to stay in the temple, secluded and looking after her family. Unfortunately, her ideal didn’t last.
Her quiet life was disrupted when the savage clans of orcs formed a combat unit dubbed the Iron Horde and began to take on Draenor. Yrel was captured and forced into the middle of a conflict. As a slave of the Iron Horde and eventually gaining combat experience fighting the threat of the orcs. Following the death of Velen and a series of betrayals within the society of Draenei, Yrel took upon herself the responsibility of taking care of her people. She was elected to the Council of Exarchs, and an important figure within both the draenei as well as the Alliance forces of Draenor.
Yrel is a solid Bruiser capable of enduring any kind of pressure on the battlefield, and peeling her allies by the power of Light. She is unique because her Basic Abilities are able to be recharged at a rate of 1.5 seconds, which increases their power. Her trait, Divine Purpose. In general, Yrel functions well in the majority of team formations, as she is in a position to play as a primary Tank or a Briser.
The strengths of Yrel are the ability to tank, control crowds as well as sustain heroes. However, his weaknesses are strong crowd control and extreme mobility of opponents. Yrel has been the very first Draenei who has entered the Nexus and the only hero from the Draenei race within the games.
Yrel was first introduced on screen in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor (November 2014). Screenshots of Yrel’s abilities as well as abilities were released on June 4th, 2018.Yrel is voiced by Erin Fitzgerald.
Yrel is the third Warcraft hero from the game. The hammer Yrel uses, known as Hammer of the Naaru, was originally owned by her late mentor, Maraad. Yrel’s level 20 talent Bubble Hearth is a reference to a similar technique that is commonly employed by Paladin players within World of Warcraft. Through activating their abilities Divine Shield and hearthing, they can become invulnerable for long enough to evade combat.
