Wazzup Armies, Welcome to another rogue company spotlight. And today we are going to feature a male rogue in the game. Umbra.
Umbra is a force to be reckoned with, a deadly assassin who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He is fiercely independent and hates relying on others, but his cybernetic implants have made him even more formidable. Despite being betrayed by the organization Jackal, Umbra remains committed to their cause and is a dangerous foe to anyone who stands in his way.
Umbra does a good job in attack and defense, when using his passive correctly he can quickly gain momentum. Along that line his ability can be devastating if used well. It could be used as a tool to get out of hiding, down players, simply intimidate me or just gain intel.
A remote-control drone, with the appearance of a spider, that can be used to seek enemies and detonate near them, causing significant area damage. Gain max health when you earn a down or assist on an enemy on his passive.
Early in Umbra’s development, he was known as “Guava”. This is still his code name in the game’s files. Umbra was the first playable Jackal member added to the game, and the second overall aligned to an organization that was not RoCo, the first being Mack. Umbra, along with Vy, are the only rogues able to gain maximum health. Even if Umbra dies while controlling his spider-drone, he will keep controlling it. Umbra’s “a-RC-nid” can be used to detonate tripmines and C4s.

Umbra is a high-ranking Jackal assassin and a true believer of the Jackal cause. After a mission against Rogue Company went sideways, he was left for dead. Thanks to numerous cybernetic implants from Jackal, he was reborn, more zealous, and committed than ever before.
With Saint now having Lifeline ‘and’ drone flight speed increased, we think he will be completing many more revives than before. As such, we’re slightly reducing the flat heal given to Saint and his teammates when completing a revive.
The HRM 30k is tuned to be a headshot gun through and through. We want to make sure players aren’t fighting against too much reticle bloom when they’re expecting to hit headshots, so we’re making the weapon bloom a bit less at base and moving the bloom reduction upgrade to allow for faster access in your build. We feel bullet penetration is too niche of an upgrade for a weapon already niche in other ways. It is the only assault rifle without a magazine size upgrade on top of having the smallest magazine size in class. We believe subbing in a smaller mag size upgrade instead of bullet penetration will feel more worth purchasing.
Well, that’s it for Umbra. What can you say about this rogue? Is this a reliable hero to play in a rank game? Thank you again, Armies and see you in the next hero spotlight.
