Hello armies! Mr. Frog here and I am introducing you again to another gun in Valorant. This is one of the primary weapons, Bucky. At just 850 credits, Bucky is the cheapest primary weapon in the game. It can be used for half-buy rounds. It can shoot 15 pellets per shot, with high falloff. At 8 or fewer meters, 8 pellets to the body are enough to kill, while 12 pellets are needed at 8-12 meters. Any pellets that strike the head deal double damage. Beyond 12 meters, the primary fire is almost useless. But Bucky users have the option to fire an alternate fire that contains pellets at 7.5m. This allows them to fight their enemies at a medium range. A pellet that hits a target within 7.5m of the Bucky’s range will not do any damage, but it will deal one pellet’s worth of damage. Like other pump-action shotguns, Bucky can be reloaded at no cost after one shot. This effectively increases its magazine size to 5-15.
Like all shotguns, the Bucky also has a large bullet spread. Up to eight meters, you can hit your target reliably for significant damage. After that, it might be necessary to hit the target twice to kill them. The Bucky’s primary fire mode renders it almost ineffective if the target is further than twenty meters away. The damage that the pellets do not deal is insufficient. To be able to ambush your enemy, the Bucky should only be used at close range.
The only reason you used to buy a Bucky in Valorant was for its right click, which could rival a rifle at range for about a third of the price. This strategy is now a thing of the past thanks to 2.06 nerfs. You have to be more careful about where you aim the pellets, as there are less pellets at the right click. The damage drop-off is quite severe. There is nothing better than being up close and personal with a shotgun. However, if you are stuck, just throw some right clicks out there and pray.
You can get all this power for only 850 Creds. That’s why the Bucky has been a very popular pick-up even after the nerfs. It’s not much more than a pistol and does so much damage.
